A brief introduction to an upcoming full length DVD of “Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley” with an appreciation of the mythology of this region revealed in nature and sculpted by man, Pan and the Cathedrals, the Cathedrals and the Puma - Puma -guardian of Machu Picchu found ever present subtly sculpted into the mountainside of Huayna Picchu.
One fine day, two days after I had returned from a most extraordinary trip to Peru, Pat Leonard called me and insisted I come down to the studio to listen to “this amazing artist”. Breaking my usual three day taboo before I venture out after returning from a trip like this, I went. I stood amazed when I heard Shenkar’s voice. A wonderful coincidence - the magic of the moment was that his voice had the very same resonance the Andes Mountains held for me - its hard to explain, but the “spirit” in the Andes Mountains can be felt and seen clearly through nature, enhanced on occasion by the hand of sculptors past. I was very moved by the feeling of the landscape - Shenkar was singing this feeling I’d had.
